Description | Thirty-six small black snail shells alternating with small white clam shells, strung on nylon line. Party favor given to judges and other dignitaries at a December 26th Aruuan Kirisimas (Second Christmas) hymn singing contest in the village of Chuyukiano on the island of Tol, circa 1966. As the only American living on the island at the time the collector was seated at the head table and received the necklaces. |
