Description

One of a pair of moccasins. Hard sole; upper of native-tanned hide; separate tongue, forked; separate notched piece of hide attached to heighten ankle flap; all construction sinew sewn; thong lacing; dyed muslin edging around ankle flaps. Blue, green, red, yellow, and metallic seed beads in geometric designs against a white beaded background (using lazy stitch technique, sinew sewn); chevron design on instep, split triangle and crosses along sole edge. Condition: good, minimal bead loss. Sticker with number "40" attached to bottom of sole of one moccasins (.2).
