Description
Softwood (Buckeye or poplar?) canoe model (.1); flat bottom tapering at both bow and stern ends to a point; hollowed out interior follows the shape of the exterior. In pencil on one side of the canoe is printed "Wilson Featherhead Wolftown Cherokee", on the other side in Cherokee syllabary in pencil is printed [...]. Paddle (.2) found separately in the same drawer with no information; based on a similar canoe and paddle model in the collection (46-6-81ab) by Featherhead, the paddle is accessioned with this canoe model.
Condition: Good. To registrar's for freezing. 3/91.
