Description | Head of Bird As Handle (broken) Round lid with an effigy-zoomorphic handle on the top of the lid. The vessel has a handle in the shape of a bird's head. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior and a burnished finish on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the lid The catalogue number is written on the bottom. Black ink on the bottom reads: "3287a." |
