Description

Eagle feathers (black and white) attached to brown felt base. At front base is strip of beadwork- orange, blue, and turquoise. At each end of strip are beadwork discs of same colors from which hang red and green beadwork cylinders. From cylinders hang pieces of black horsehair (?). At tips of feathers, white horsehair is attached. At back of bonnet 8 strips of white ermine are attached. Each feather is wound at the base with red felt and a thin piece of white ribbon. The headdress was awarded to Mr. Maxwell by the Alberta Indian Association in Banff, Canada in Sept., 1957
