Description | Turqoise painted wooden Chief kachina figure of the Hopi Blue Whipper,with bulding eyes, large mouth, and decorated with painted white, red, black, and green details. The figure holds a bundle of yucca whips in each hand. He wears a loincloth/dance kilt with red horse hair hanging down on both hips and painted wooden fox pelt. His head is adorned with feathers and a head band made of plant stalk/fibers wrapping around. He wears a long fur beard, leather arm bands, black yarn tied at proper right wrist, leather band at proper left wrist, black yarn ties at knees. "Henry Dallaswyma 1950s" (?) is written at the bottom of the proper right foot in pencil. |
