Description | This Hopi cloud kachina is identified as a Hopi female Shalako. The Kachina is made of carved painted wood. The body is covered in cascading brown and white speckled feathers and wears a white felt cloak with black and red trim. The figure weards a necklace of shell and turquoise beads, feathers at the forehead and top of the head. The terraced tablita head decoration, made of paper board, is painted in red, blue, yellow, black and white Paint colors: white, black, red, yellow, green, purple. |
