Description

Painted wooden figure known as "Hopi peeping out man" wears mask of turquoise and yellow with cylindrical mouth, red ears, and four stiff brown and white feathers attached to the top of the head. The head is also adorned with light white "breath" feathers and black yarn for hair. The figure wears yellow and red body paint, a black yarn bandolier across the chest, green arm bands, a white dance kilt and white rain sash with fringe at proper right hip, a fox pelt at the back, and white moccasins with black and white skunk fur at the ankles. The figure holds a stick in the proper left hand. It appears that a blue/green dance rattle may have been held in the proper right hand and is now missing. One of many corn kachinas.
