Description | Multi-color painted wooden figure of female chief "Hopi Crow Mother." Her head is adorned with greyish-white feathers along with carved black feathers sprouting out from both sides in a fan-like manner. She holds an ear of purple corn in her proper right (PR) hand and a bowl of food(corn meal) in her proper left (PL) hand. Her boots include light tan leather tassel decorations on the outside. She wears an embroidered white shawl over her black dress, and stands on a wooden base on one foot. "Ernest Chapella Crow Mother" is written in black ink on the bottom of the wooden base. |
