Description | Painted wooden figure with a blue head, snout, and horn as well as red, tan, teracotta, and white legs and boots. The top of the head is adorned with a flattened blue yarn pompom with standing feathers (blue, brown and white, and red). Additional feathers adorn the back of the head. The figure wears a collar ruff made of feathers and long black yarn hair hangs almost the entire lenght of the back. The figure wears a blue, red, and white beaded neckalace featuring sequential beaded loops beneath the feathered ruff, and a patch of fur pelt at the shoulders. The Shalako wears a white dress made of multiple layers. The decorations on the dress are made of felt of diferent shapes and colors. There are also green, orange, and black yarn pom poms attached to the corners of the felt and feathes glued around the bottom half. |
