Description | The object is identified as a Zuni Figure. The Kachina is carved painted wood with a yellow, black and white mask, a green yarn ruff collar, and feathers on the top of the head (colors: gray, red, yellow, and black.) The Kachina wears white and black body paint, crossed leather bandoliers with shells attached, and black loin cloth with a yellow butterfly. The figure wears accessories of upper arm bands, wrist yarn ties, woven garter ties at hips and below the knees, white moccasins, and white fur ankle bands. Paint colors: white, black, gray, brown, red, yellow, green, peach, ocher. |
