Description | The object is identified as a San Juan Pueblo Doll. The Kachina is carved painted wood with red and yellow face, shell necklace, black horns and a red fabric head piece with feathers attached in a Plains Indian style running down the back. The figure wears a painted leather kilt, a white braided rain sash of cotton, black and silver arm bands made of yarn, and yarn and silver bells tied onto both ankles. The figure holds a hunting bow in the proper left (PL) hand; the proper right (PR) hand is broken and missing. Paint colors: white, black, red, yellow, green |
