Description | Pyxis. Pale buff clay covered on the outside with a white slip decorated in applied red. The interor is fired a light orange-red, though irregularly so. Decoration consists of a red band over the rim and slightly below it, then a band of white slip with red vine motive, with another red band below that. The bottom of the pyxis and its low foot are coated with a white slip. |
