Description | Old, white cotton huipil. Upper third with side seams on both sides and lower part with only one side seam. In both cases, the width of material is the vertical length of the blouse. The seam joining the upper and lower halves is hidden under a horizontal band of red embroidery. Brocaded designs in red, yellow, pale blue, pink and lavender cotton. Concentric, rayed bands (sun emblem) around the circular neck. Below this is a plain, red band with scenes showing human figures, trees and birds standing and in trees. |
