Description | Carved in Nootka war club spatulate form but with merely a widening at handle tip instead of head profile. Braided sinew cord (colorless and red-brown) wrapped around grip. Shredded cedar bark and several birds quills held to grip on underside by the sinew cord. Undersurface stained red. Top surface has incised head, numerous circles with dots in center, and two "leaf" and two "double leaf" designs. REd and blue paint on "leaf designs", red eye and tongue on face. Trace of double line in black between designs and grip. |
