Description | Huipil of three panels. Center panel is red and side panels are white. Brocading colors are red, white, yellow and green and patterns include horizontal zigzags, rosettes, diamonds and birds. See 29-60-4. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp center panel: 48 epi, single, Z twist, red cotton. Weft center panel: 40 ppi, single, Z twist, red cotton. Warp side panels: 48 epi, single, Z twist, white cotton. Weft side panels: 44 ppi, single, Z twist, white cotton. Balanced plain weave. Supplementary weft is two faced. Three panels, four selvedges each. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
