Description | Rio Grande Hispanic banded blanket made of two halves joined lengthwise. Weft selvedge cords are white. Cut fringe visible at both ends and black fringe added. Design of five compound bands of yellow and orange stripes with a beaded, black border. The center of each compound band has stepped, skewed diamonds in red, orange, yellow and green. White background between each compound band with intermittent green hash marks. Weft selvedge cords are white. The central vertical "seam" and cut fringe indicate this textile was woven on a floor loom and the design and color palette are "typical" of the Rio Grande style. |
