Description

Caracol Stela 16. Limestone. Upper and lower fragments as assembled in Middle American Hall, 1953; butt, which may add slightly to carving on front, not found in 1951 or 1953; may be recovered if excavation is extended. Incised inscription on back emphasized with water-color paint by L. Satterthwaite, 1953, after photographing. Nothing painted in which did not seem certain. Approximately complete.
