THE Eldridge R. Johnson Expedition has begun the third season of excavation at Piedras Negras, Guatemala, with Mr. Linton Satterthwaite, Jr., as field director. No report has as yet been received, but an extended account of the expedition’s progress should be available for the next Bulletin.

The stelae and other sculptured stonework obtained last year and assigned to the Museum by the Guatemalan government have at last arrived in this country after unavoidable delay in transportation. An extended account of these notable additions to the Museum’s Middle American collection will appear in a forthcoming number of the Bulletin.
